Scholarship

Scholarship is a very important aspect of the Beta Alpha of Alpha Phi chapter. The women of our house work hard to maintain an outstanding GPA, and so they have. Alpha Phi has the fifth highest GPA of all the sorority houses at the University of Illinois. The ladies of Alpha Phi work and study hard, and their grades and commitment to education show.

Alpha Phi's average GPA has been outstanding for many years, and the women of the Beta Alpha chapter work hard to uphold the standard that has been set by the previous women in our chapter. Since the Spring of 2003 Alpha Phi's GPA has been above the sorority average!

Our chapter takes part in various incentives programs to help encourage scholarship.  Every semester, we encourage all the women to attend as many classes as they can. On a weekly basis the women are awarded for having perfect attendence to classes by putting their name in the "skippy jar". At each chapter a name is drawn and those women who attended all their classes that week have the oppurtunity to win a prize!

Another way that Alpha Phi encourages scholarship is by awarding women who receive a 3.5 GPA or higher at every chapter. The women also participate in weekly study parties at the chapter house. We also have a Brainiac Buck auction, which awards ladies for receiving good grades on tests, quizzes, and papers throughout the semester.

Overall, the Alpha Phi chapter at the University of Illinois takes academics and scholarship very seriously, and we strive for excellence by encouraging our members through various programs.
